Shells going up and lead going down. Hopefully soon reloading will offer good value.

AA's and STS's, 12's and 20's, in Helena MT at Sportsmans Warehouse are ALL at $6.99. Drive across town to Wally world and they are all at $5.98 .

A Wal-Mart here in MT constantly has Fed Top gun 1 oz 7.5's and 8's in 12 ga and 7/8 oz 20's in 8 and 9 on sale, year round for $3.88 a box.

When factory ammo prices catch up with current lead values $4 a box "bargain" ammo will be a thing of the past.

I think ammo prices will spike in a year or so,then take another year or so to drop again. Wonder WHERE shot will go?? Doubt if will see under $25 a bag ever again. I sincerely HOPE I'm wrong.

Two (2) weeks ago, I went to Sportsmen's Warehouse up here where I live. In one week, the cost of the Estates went from $43.99 to $52.99 with no notice, no nothing. You still get the 5% flat discount. I asked why the mega hike in a week and they said the manufacturer told them to raise the price. Thank you Federal.

Have a feeling you'll see Estates close to 75.00 a flat by the middle of Jan.

Local Walmart raised the Winchester value packs to 23.88, up from 16.97. STS shells went from 5.97 to 6.75. AA's went from 5.97 to 7.57.

Let us all remember that when everyone else raised there prices last time Wal Mart really did not raise them at all ... maybe this is just them catching up to the rest of the market and they will delay the next price increase like they did with the last one.

I've never even seen a bargain in a Gander Mountains store. They always seems like the "Macy's" of outdoor stores.

Unsure on where the $3.88 Fed Top Guns went. Probably UP ,but to where??

In south Mississippi wal mart upped their shell prices (except two) after being told by the home office. Win AA 12ga are now, $7.57 (up $1.60), Remington STS/Nitro are now $6.74 (up $.78), Win value packs are now $23.88 (up $6.91). The remington value packs stayed the same at $19.95 and the Federal value packs stayed the same at $16.97. They said those would probably go up monday so i bought all they had for practice shells as i dont reload. Bob...

That's interesting information. I expect the Walmart promotional ammo will be going up here too in Minneapolis area Minnesota. I checked last night and the AAs were still just under $6 per box and the promo ammo was same prices you gave.

This morning I went to Wally World to check out what was left on the shelf. Everything was marked up to the new prices but they still had the Remington Game Loads 1oz. #8, 1250 fps (20 & 12) marked at $41.40 a flat. Sad news was they only had 1 flat of 12 ga. left. One was better than nothing.

My wife is in Missoula for the day, so had her check the Wal-Mart that normally had a mess of Fed Top Guns at $3.88 a box. They were just raising all of them to $4.98 a box. They had 36 boxes of 1 ounce 8's left in 12ga and the Clerk was nice enough to honor the old $3.88 price.

Earlier that morning someone came in and cleaned them out of 20 ga skeet 9's , took all of them. The days of under $4 a box 12's and 20's are OVER I'm afraid.

I've been buying ALL the under $6 a box STS's and AA's in 12 and 20 from this past summer until now. I'm at 16,000+ between 12's and 20's. Most of them Rem STS's. Many bought for $5 a box or a bit less on sale. Don't feel so bad now about spending so much money on the assumption they were going to go UP.
