The problem with public housing is that the residents are not the owners. The people that live in the house did not earn the house, but were loaned the property from the true owners, the taxpayers.

Because of this, the residents do not have the "pride of ownership" that comes with the hard work necessary.
In fact, the opposite happens and the residents resent their benefactors because the very house is a constant reminder that they themselves did not earn the right to live in the house.

They do not appreciate the value of the property and see no need to maintain or respect it in any way.

The result is the same whether you are talking about a studio apartment or a magnificent mansion full of priceless antiques.

If the people who live there do not feel they earned the privilege, they will make this known through their actions.

What do all these pics have in common?

They all show a basic disrespect for The White House and its furnishings!

The Resolute Desk was built from the timbers of the HMS Resolute and was a gift from Queen Victoria to President Rutherford B. Hayes.

It is considered a national treasure and icon of the presidency.

The White House belongs to the People of America and should be more revered than to use anything and everything for a foot rest! What all these shots have in common is that they continue to prove that this man has no class!

Mr. Obama, you are not in a hut in Kenya or Indonesia, or public housing in Chicago .
With all due respect, get your xxxx feet off our desk!

Every President since JFK has been photographed with their feet on the desk.
He isn't a servant, he is our President, and if he's tired and puts his feet up, no big deal.

If you wish to criticize the President's actions, please do so, but you are sounding like a tiresome "birther" with your rant.

Its one of America's problem's "Respect" everyone whats it but they don't what to do what it takes to get it !!

Had I been John K. dad and seen him do that in the WH, I'd kick his a## and have a picture of me doing it!

Then have both pictures mounted side by side for everyone to see.

Obama's no different except he had no dad!! to teach him any different!

The worst example of dis-respecting public property was in the state of WI this last year!

Next to that was the Clintonites when they had to leave the WH.

Prison time is to good for the likes of them!!

As much time as he spends on vacation, I'd be surprised if he ever gets tired.

Maybe the real reason he puts his big feet on furniture is because Kenyans are just basically lazy.
