The proper selection of the trap gun

    At a local trap tournament, one of the shooters was using an older field grade Remington 870 pump action.

    He was doing quite well.

    Part way through one of the events the 870 broke a part which would not have permitted it to continue at all.

    Someone got another gun which this shooter had not shot before and brought it to the line.

    The shooter took the replacement gun and ran all the rest of the targets in that event.

    It's the Indian, not the arrow! I have a large collection of shotguns, and enjoy shooting them all. The guys at the club tease me, asking what gun I brought to shoot this week. I could probably pick up a few targets, if I only shot one gun, but what's the fun in that. Mark
