The origination of the abbreviation BBLs

    I always thought it would be a better abbreviation for "Bubbles" rather than "Barrels."

    I just found out today how this abbreviation came into accepted use for gun barrels. Post your guesses on here.

    Would it have anything to do with the "Blue Barrel" terminolgy used by Standard oil or for "Barrels of Beer?

    Eric, In all my infinite wisdom I just fixed it,,I used to do this in my spare time,, Thought about being a brain surgeon but didn't want to take a cut in pay from my plumbing job,,,,

    ok, OICU812. But you have to have a MEDLINE account to access that article. And you go back to the end of the line for finding a competitor's paper...

    Here is one with which a trapshooter would have experience: Why do men speak in incomplete sentences, when a woman speaks in complete paragraphs?

    Devi, Could it be that they can't get a word in edgewise? I think most men think others know what they are talking about so don't have to explain it. Or maybe it's that men can't keep their train of thought away from guns and such so women have to keep trying to get their attention. Oh and please don't send this to my wife. Jackie B.
