I am sorry but I see nothing but dumb people. When our main style of trap machine went from being a fixed plate to moveable micro switch the 2/3 hole debate is over. Their will never, I repeat NEVER be a three hole target again unless manufactures make a machine with a FIXED adjustment setting for the angles that can be easily checked and confirmed by shooters and event personal. Quit wasting brain power NOW!!!!!

If I remember correctly 7" between the magnets on a Pat Trap gives a 44 degree spread. JRM

GS- Does the term "three hole" target refer to a numbered hole on Winchester hand set traps or to the angle of the targets that any trap machine throws? It is rather simple to change a PAT Trap to throw the same angles that were thrown by a hand set Winchester trap set in the three hole.

Superstars have the holes numbered from 1 to 5, with two number 2s. HMB

Yes my comment is in response to the old standard Winchester hand set. And NO Superstars are NOT the norm!!! You can measure away all you want but it is still a best guess as to the angles and related to the position of the trap field. This is how this whole 2-3 hole thing started. When clubs started to move those micro-switches in. I stand by my comment that you can NEVER go back to a three hole target without a FACTORY three hole setting that can be easily doubled checked. Hell I even remembered when the 3 hole wore out on the winchester plate clubs would fudge a little when they re-drilled a new one. Even as I write this I wonder how many of the clubs I shoot at even are pushing the 2-hole angles to the inside!!!!!!!!! Some of those angles I shoot look narrow. As before WE brought this on as a group and industry. No going back now!

The whole issue of reduced spread of targets has to be addressed. Our leaders, our delegates, have a responsibility to assure targets at least meet the minimums. But, it almost seems like they are pushing the reductions in target spread.

So shortly we will be arguing about turning down targets that are straight aways from 2 and 4.

Where does it end? Time to start moving it the other direction.
