    Hello:
I was out at the Waukesha gun club this past weekend, they had a zone shoot. Was talking to a guy who said he was listening to a radio talk show and some woman predicted that we will have a civil war in a few years. She mentioned the eating away of the middle class is causing us to have the "haves and the have nots" in our country. Is history repeating itself like the 1930's? I read an old article in Trap & Field that mentioned writers of that era did not mention the low attendance at trap shoots back then. The writer also mentioned that the ATA average book was extremely thin back in that decade. He also mentioned shooters having to sell guns to stop home foreclosures etc. what do you think regarding her statements?

If the national debt continues to explode at current rates, the economy will not recover soon, unemployment may well reach great depression levels, and the U.S. will undoubtedly suffer some severe hardships in the coming years. Would or could this result in some sort of "civil war" No one knows that, but of course, many like to speculate. The middle class is indeed under a major assault, and many easily forsee/predict a future where there are only two classes left-the very rich (poliiticians and the like) and the very poor (the rest of us). That is, unfortunately, the inevitable end of the socialist cycle, as has been demonstrated in many countries throughout the history of socialism. Thus if we continue on the road our current government seems fanatically determined to follow, we will reach that end in the next decade or so.

Since the eighties this country has been heading for a two class society. Will there be a Civil War? Can't answer that but I would not be surprised in the least. Bulge.

Read Jefferson, I believe he said something to the effect that: No one can take guns away from free men, and sometimes free men with guns have to change a tyrannical government.

Just because you have the gold does not mean your bullet proof. Piss off the wrong person or group and you will what I mean. Your gold is not a good shield.

I know one thing in the 80's the average CEO's salary was roughly 40 times that of the worker, now it's 480 times, wow what a jump. From looking at the average household income in the U.S., I would guess that would make the average CEO's income about 22 million a year.

I have no doubt that a major Revolt or Civil War is in the future, its just a matter of time when people have a belly full and finally do something about it ... The Politicians feel they are above the law and once there is a separation between those people who govern and those that don't something serious will happen ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

My biggest fear is something will interrupt my shooting. The only reason I work now is to have money to squander on shells, targets and my weekend hunting trips. I am one of the have nots but have managed my expenditures in such a way as to allow me to squander hundreds of dollars a month on shooting. If we are all unemployed and our money becomes worthless it could have a negative affect on me.

    Owning gold....

If things get that economically bad......no matter how much gold you have, it will not be enough.

As for a revolt (For the record, I am not a proponent of a revolt).....

I believe if there is a revolt or major conflict in the US, it will be based on race/culture not economics.

Gold makes great shot material too being denser than lead. 8.5 gold shot is very good for trap shooting, even at longer ranges.

If it came down to a revolt or Civil war I would hope that the first people to get it are the progressive politicians. With them out of the way things would go easy from there. Bulge.

...the coming civil war will occur for other reasons. For a crystal ball view, read a good and through history of the French Revolution.

    There will be 4 classes:

    The Monied, with real wealth.

The Ruling Elite, with sealth, but more importantly, power.

    The Working Poor.

The Entitlement class, Food stamps, free medical, Housing, even now they get free cell phones.

There may be a 5th group of working entreprenuers, but if they have any sense they will stay hidden.

I don't know about civil war, but I do agree that the "entitlement class" wants more and the paying class (like me) want to keep a bit of our hard earned money.

The Dems will tell you a sob story humble and disadvantaged workers, but the bottom line is they want to enlarge the entitlement class thus enabling them to keep their offices and government power.

Where will it lead?? Already 50% of the people in this country do not pay income tax - in fact, many get a "refund" of money they never paid. My democrat legislators won't respond to me because I disagree with how they want to spend money. They only support the libs and government give aways - no time for those who have to pay the bill. As John Fogerty used to sing "I see a bad moon a rising".
