I believe the link above is what is being referred to. I don't know that there has been an article in U.S. News, but there is this blog entry.

If you live in the projects, are second or third generation welfare recipients, have never held a job, and want the welfare check to keep coming, this is good news.

If you are independent enough to want to provide for yourself and loved ones, and control your own fate, this is what you are going to get with the Democratic ticket.

Truman must be spinning in his grave.

bigdogtx's comment about "satire" in the URL hits the nail on the head.

That particular piece is a satire, but many others are not.

My retirement is not dependent on the Govt' or a retirement fund. My medical care is covered for life By VA. If I become unable to care for myself, the assisted living or even nursing home is taken care of. I am and intend to stay debt free. I am not in the majority.

I don't want to see ANYBODY have to eat cat food when they retire.

I have been called "cold-blooded", and worse. I have made hard decisons when needed, but the closest I come to tears is when I see a very old person on the street, with ragged clothes, picking up cans and such to survive.

Google this and go to reputable sites. This is NOT satire.

shooting coach. I think we all probably feel as you do about seeing an old and destitute person on the street. If we feel bad enough for them we are always free to help them with our own money but not some other persons money.

A second revolution? Does anyone think people have the guts or could organize? That generation is dying off. Michael

you will never get near them. The rulers are not part of the people any more. they have gated communities, security guards, and the rest of it.

This could very well slide through without a lot of notice. Look how the executive compenstain is coming out of the bailout money. (See the thread)

The have nots don't care, they will get some of what the gov confiscates.

    More "Spread The Wealth".

It will get much worse before it gets better, if it ever does.
