House Roll Call: How they voted on stimulus bill....

The 244-188 roll call Wednesday by which the House passed a $819 billion economic stimulus bill.

A "yes" vote is a vote to pass the bill.

Voting yes were 244 Democrats and 0 Republicans.

Voting no were 11 Democrats and 177 Republicans.

To see their names, click the link above.

Makes me very happy to see that no RHINOS voted yes.

Here's a partial list of pork projects. How many jobs does this create. If Obama fails, we win because the money remains in our already depleted pockets.

Obama already knows this plan is a failure, why the push to get the republicans on board. Because he then can say "we failed" instead of "I" failed.

$50 million outlay for the National Endowment for the Arts

$650 million to repair dilapidated Forest Service facilities

$2.5 billion to upgrade low-income housing

$200 million to rehabilitate the National Mall

$1 billion for Amtrak, (the federal railroad that hasn't turned a profit in 40 years)

    $2 billion for child-care subsidies

    $400 million for global-warming research

$2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects

$650 million for extending the digital TV coupon deal

    $20 billion for food stamps

$83 billion for the earned income credit for people who don't pay income tax

$6 billion to subsidize university building projects

$600 million "Training Primary Care Providers: to address shortages and prepare our country for universal healthcare by training primary healthcare providers including doctors, dentists, and nurses. (Universal health care? page 10 if you what to look)

It appears that President Obama will be using classic "good cop/bad cop" tactics to get his agenda passed. He goes on TV talking about how bi-partisan he is..how much he wants to hearfrom the other side..and include them in the legislative process..blah..blah. The Democrat loons in Congress load the boat with pure social engineering and left-wing B.S. The President says "that's not what I want////but when it passes....he'll sign it, 'cause "we need this right away.."

Obama's probably already issued the 400 million for global warming research to Al Gore.

With all Republicans voting No, it would seem that our new President has a very long way to "Change the way that things work in Washington."

The Senate is yet to come, and the Republicans sent a pretty clear message to the Democrats with this vote.

Isn't it funny how they put it out to the public,,,,they don't want you to know how BIG this thing is,,,,it is actually over $1.3 TRILLION!!!!! They don't want us to know about the INTEREST that has to be PAID sometime,,,,I guess they thing it is easier to SWALLOW if they say "billion" instead of "trillion",,,,guess _everybody_ wasn't sleeping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think about this,,,,it actually was bi-partisian since some democrats voted with republicans!!! :D :D

I find threads like this confusing. What exactly does anyone have to gain by spending billions and lie to the people about. For this to be malicious I have to assume there is the correct path and the incorrect path, and apparently those that have posted say this is the wrong path. Are you saying the democrats are acting in bad faith and I would like to understand what you think they have to gain. If Obama tanks the country due to this, what does he gain??? I can only conclude that he is acting in good faith and he and his advisers know way more than we do. If none of this is true, then it's time for armed revolution because Obama isn't any different than anyone else in office Democrat or Republican

What do Democrats have to gain by growing the federal government? You can't be that naive.

Sorry hunter44: I am just trying to understand the pure disgust or loathing of our President. I didn't vote for him either, but I do think he at least thinks he is doing the correct thing. I generally don't buy into conspiracy theories, these has to be something to gain by the people we accuse. Sometimes I just don't understand is all I am saying.

We don't know what would happen if the federal government let us keep our own money and stopped spending the trillions they steal from us. We should give it a try. We do know what happens when the federal government steals and spends trillions from us. You get what we have now. And what do they want from us now? Trillions more new spending.

Highflyer, please explain what is gained by huge growth in government, We witnessed the Republican's do it and now the warning's the Democrats are going to do it also. So the Republicans got the butt handed to them and we can only assume then the Democrats will also. However either party will grow the government to massive size, so tell me again which party wins. Or is it your statement the public looses when any party grows the governments influence in our lives. That one makes sense to me, but the Republican good Democrat bad thing just doesn't have the facts to follow it from what I have seen.

There were liberal Republicans that got drunk on the power and money that comes to them from government stealing and spending. Now Obama and the Democrats are going to take it to a new level. It empowers and enriches them. Not hard to understand why they do it. It is hard to understand why the average stupid American gets on board with it.
