Well, after being introduced to Trap about 3 weeks ago, I have taken the plunge and purchased a NIB Super X2 Sporting Clays with the walnut stock. I should get it a week from Wednesday when I get back from vacation. Having never owned a shotgun before, what do I need to know about the initial cleaning and "breaking it in"?

I know I need to clean the anti-rust compound first. What's the best thing to use?
What's the best kind of oil to use as a lubricant?
Do you use something different for a new gun than you would for one that is "broken in"?
What kind of ammo should I use to "break it in"?
How many shells before it is "broken in"?
Do I need to break in both gas pistons? or is the break in mostly for the movement of the bolt mechanism?

And most importantly, how do I tell my wife that bought the gun? :)

    Thanks in advance!
    Kevin

You read and follow the instructions that are in the owners manual that should come with .
As for telling your wife , just tell her you bought it . Should not be a big deal .
