Lots of payouts, not very big for the most part. Lewis purses are still a bad bet, cost to return.

so, mallard...when was the last time YOU won over $26k shooting trap?

    looks pretty big to me....

Of course, what mallard is referring to is true of any sort of paramutual waging (like horse racing or bingo) where there's potentially no added money coming into the pot. Reducing a lewis to its barest fundamentals (two shooters, each paying $5) means I win and you lose.

Even when you extrapolate it out to 25 shooters paying $5...that's "only" $125, split three divisions...$42, probably split further by ties, makes it seem like 'you're not winning much'

but face it, for the vast majority of us...shooting trap is a pastime...for fun. The "money" is just there for the spice, the little extra, the bragging rights.

Sure wish I'd gotten a chunk of the cash, though. Thanks to the Martins!

Logan was the BIG winner with $100K. Harlan did well in second with $26K.

I'd bet Harlan won a lot more than the $26k he earned for that Lewis HOA, looking at the winning scores he posted in a number of events. That said, Logan got the biggest payout by a good margin.
