OK I first thought this was a joke, cause everyone was saying how great this option was but there were no pictures shown.
So I thought I'd give it a try, everything worked on my post, picture info. downloaded but my pic. nor anybody elses pic. displays.
Joke, or am I doing something wrong??

<blockquote>"Server space requirements will surely go way up now. Maybe it's time for another round of donations to the site?"</blockquote>

The increase in server load can be minimized if posters learn how to resize and crop their photos before posting them to reduce the file size of each image... and do it! There are online photo editors that eliminate the need to install even a simple tool to do the job.

Photos so big that they require horizontal scrolling to view are a huge waste of server resources as are photos that are mostly background surrounding 1 small item of interest.

    I concur with EE

David offers us a great forum for talking about our favorite hobby.

Those of you who are regulars (and even you occasionals and lurkers) should consider sending David a donation now and again.

I know he doesn't expect it, but appreciates it when he gets them.

Carol Lister has it right. There will be an increased load on the servers when they are also hosting images. It would be a good idea to keep images down to a MAXIMUM of 640 pixels in any direction (IE: 640X480 Maximum). The images remain on the server, even though you might delete the thread. You can do your own housecleaning simply by clicking on the "Insert/Upload Image" link, clicking on the "View Gallery of Uploaded Images" link, and clicking the "Image Options" link under the image. It has options to rotate and delete the image. The option to use an outside image hosting service like PhotoBucket still remains. This is a good option if you are concerned about conserving David's resources. Once you have "tested" the new image uploading feature, you might try testing the removal procedure as well.

Resizing images is easy and there are a good number of FREE image resizing programs out there if your system does not already have one. I use VSO's Image Resizer: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/image_resizer/ It's free for non commercial use. It will do batches of images and will rename them for you as well.

By the way, David has added the Image Feature to the PM system as well. Just don't all jump at once to try to wear it out! :)
