Our club started the league today using Federal Champion targets for the first time. Even the best shooters had bad scores, Some targets looked like they were hit and just gained speed instead of breaking. They sure don't compare to White Flyers

Shoot a year's worth of registered biodegradable targets and then get back to us with your new average.

The principal ingredient in Champion targets is Portland cement. Less breakage in shipment and unloading at the big box stores.

Our club got a truckload of Champion targets a while back. The damn things would not break and the result was that we lost our crowd until the targets were gone. If you look at the underside of a Champion target, there is an extra reinforcement ring that is not present on any other brand of targets.

Back about 1990, Federal was the low bidder for the Maryland State Sportsmen's Association events at Thurmont. Event #1 of their state shoot was singles and produced some horrible scores including a 92 from Frank Little, who was possibly the best shooter around at that time. Among other oddities we witnessed, one of my squadmates shot a hard right from post five and turned it into a straightaway with not as much as dust coming off of it.

Champion targets suck the big you know what. We left some out in the trap house all winter and tried to use them up last week. They wouldn't go through the machine without cracking and then wouldn't break when hit. Next time i go back there we are going to hide them in the back of the barn. JUNK Bill

Our club had a load for a while. Averages dropped by around 7%. That's huge!

Ed, I recall in 1990, the Earth had a subtle change in the angle of its rotational axis. That probably happened just as your squadmate shot & what caused the target to change path.

As you know, Trapshooters are more perceptive than most people and we frequently observe things that affect our scores.

For example, last Sunday, I noticed that several small Solar flares caused me to miss.

After the years of complaints of Champion target, why would somebody not ask here prior to buying a load of these. It only took our Club a short time to figure out they are S**t targets. We went to White Flyers and all of our problems ceased.

If you can't break BIOS look in the mirror-you've got other issues. On the other hand, Federals suck-always did and always will. They remind me of Woody Brown's attempt at target manufacturing-only worse!!

Bowhunting 11, you got that right, but they did do a lot of apologizing. Too bad it didn't help my average though.
