Yes. When someone is protesting higher taxes and trillions of dollars of government debt I will support them. I know it is a losing cause to stand against our new socialist government but it is still fun to gather with like minded people and try.

A small gathering is today in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Today's event is to promote the Weekend event when more people are not involved in working to support the government in the manner they have become accustomed to (and even more demands).

The BIG push is April 19th, Patriots Day, in the Park across form the County Courthouse in Meadville, PA. It has been publicized several times, with interviews on radio and by the newspaper in the town. Now all we need is decent weather.

If you are in the Crawford County area on Sunday, consider yourselfs personally invited to join us.

Here in Michigan there are some open carry folks out there in the state capitol as well. Good for them. The Dept. of Homeland Security is labeling us as gun nuts and need to be watched. The whole letter from the DHS is in the link above. Yes I was at a local Tea party for awhile. Funny how money will bring together both Republicans and Democrats, especially here in MI. Joe the plumber will be here in Lansing later today.

The Meadville big Tea Party starts at High Noon and is scheduled to go till 4:00 P.M. on April 19th.

Today there was a small protest. I just managed to make it to the last 10 minutes or so since I had to work. (Somebody has to work to keep thosse politicians living in the lifestyle they they have become accustomed to. :-(

Today's small party had about sixty people in front of the Post Office when I was there, most with signs or banners, standing in front of the Post Office to get the attention of last minute tax filers. It started with a press conference at noon in front of a closed auto parts store that is located on what has become basically a dead end street since they closed a bridge across French Creek about three years ago. This bridge was the main link from downtown to the western part of town. The Feds and State have thrown road block after road block into the attempts to replace the bridge. As a part of the demonstration, immediately following the press conference, protesters went to French Creek to dump a symbolic handful of tea into the creek. Then they marched up to another small creek, Mill Run, that runs next to City Hall and dumped a few more tea leaves into this creek. Then one more block to the Post Office.

The Glen Beck tea party at the Alamo was well attended. They expected 5,000 and there were probably three or four times that number. A very patriotic program with no obvious problems. Ron Renouf

Well I attended one today in Evansville, Indiana even though I don't live there. I was in "the ville" to visit the funeral home. A friend's dad had passed away. A person at the funeral home told me where the tea party was being held. Looked well attended to me I'm guessing at least a couple thousand maybe more. All kinds of people, white collar, blue collar, Moms, kids.

Watching local news from hotel room no mention so far. Figures.
