About three months ago I received from the USA a plane MX8. I sanded everything down to get it ready for engraving, I gave it to my friends at Creative Art and they dress it up as you see it..... simply a masterpiece!
What a beauty Ed. I am looking for a piece of wood this evening that will be fitting for that receiver. All your measurements are here and your other stock should be ready this week to come back to you. We can talk on Monday but that is just beautiful.
How could you shoot that! That is like collectible art, that should only be on display to look at. I would be a nervous wreck as soon as I took it out of the vault. That is, the way it is. Add $3000 of wood, a trigger, and a barrel of choice, and I would have to be a multi-millionaire minimum not to freak out taking that out to the line. Even then, the first ding is going to hurt the psyche.
I always think guns are just like women. Ever seen one so beautiful that all you wanted to do is stare at her? I absolutely admire people who own guns like this and enjoy shooting them. Just like the owners of priceless cars who drive them, guns are made to be shot. A young man said to Ralph Bone, when he was showing all of us one of his engraved custom rifles, "That gun is way to beautiful to take hunting" Ralph being very quick witted said didn't you just get married? Is your wife ugly?
Ed what are you doing are you going to put 22" spinner's on you HHR also. P.S. I know this guy there will be 5000.00 dollars of wood on this gun at least. He spends a lot of money but its nice he has a lot.
Decimamas,
That is an awesome display of art. Would you be so kind to share Creative Art e-mail or phone number. I have a K-80 Parcours Special that I would like to talk to them about. Actually, I would like to get a price to put Gold on the animals of my engraving pattern.
Juts keep smiling it sounds like some professional jealousy back there in Nebraska. I think the long winter has taken it's toll and the trolls. Your other stock is just about done and next week we can display the pics. Have a great weekend.
Dennis I don't think you are right in this case, I own 2 sco's, 3 sc3's, and 4 mx2000's and mx 14, mx3 special, (just like new). And if I wanted one of those I would just buy one. This is payback, for the first year, I got pounded on my goddess of the hunt was nothing but a porn show because of ladies with titties on it. So you spend lots of money and its beautiful and you are proud of it and your asshole acquaintances (shooting their brand new bt99's or other bargain basement shit) say that, does get a little frustrating some time. But oh well payback are hell, and Eddie can handle it. Thanks Stan
Marcello, is the background blued? One thing I notice on Creative Art guns is the astonishing contrast bewteen the background and the foreground. It REALLY brings out the depth of the engraving.
Aaron, this is the way to do the job: after the engraving id done, we do the tenifer treatment then the receiver must be cleaned because it comes out from the oven very very dirty. This is a very touchy operation because it's done with a abrasive powder, you can not make a mistake because if you do, there is no going back. To finish everything, we put the printer's ink on the receiver (it looks like a cream) and then we clean it on the surface.
Trapshooter..... You might have some problem engraving a K80. I recall that they were hardened in such a manner to prevent engraving. Not true of K32's
