The Illinois Republican State Senate Campaign Committee is holding its 10th Annual Fall Classic at the Rend Lake Resort in Whittington, Illinois, on September 19 and 20. There will be several items on the agenda that may be of interest to NRA members who wish to attend. On September 19, from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, attendees will be able to take part in a 100-target Sporting Clays round, and two 25-target rounds of either Trap or Skeet. There will also be opportunities during the day to play golf and go fishing, for those interested.

On the evening of September 19, there will be an Awards Dinner, as well as a Silent Auction and Raffle. There will be numerous firearms offered for both the Auction and Raffle, with at least eight firearms currently confirmed, but perhaps as many as a dozen or more will be available for bidding or to win. You will also have an opportunity to meet several pro-gun Republican State Senators at the Awards Dinner. This is a fund-raising event, so for information about what it will cost to attend (packages start at $100), or more details about the event, please call (217) 787-7550.

Wether you want to support or not, the chance to win one of the auctions or raffles and get to shoot should be enough to be there..

Thanks for the heads up! Our "republican" state senators (two which cover our membership and range) are looking more like a "socialists" every passing day pandering to the changing demographics of the encroaching "left".

I can not support an anti-gun state. The same goes for the grand, I refuse to go and spend money in Illinois.

The whole country is anti-gun, and the less we do to stop this trend just makes it easier for them to go YOUR state. We have to support the people on our side or they will be gone too. Thanks for your help...

    Word choice is important.

Some of Illinois' leadership is anti-gun just as is the some of the leadership of the United States, but the foundin principles of both the Illinois & US Constitutions guarantee 2nd Amendment right.

My particular town, our town newspaper and area media have been supportive of our shooting operation and we're only 30 miles from Chicago proper.

Illinois is Illinois, not much worse and no better than much of the country. The Squeaky Wheels get the Grease! - so start squeaking!

On Saturday the Peoria,IL Journal Star (pjstar.com) ran a front page article on a group of ministers and do-gooders working to do a "Chicago: style gun buy back program. It's in the beginnings so there is not much to say except that the police dept supports it. Dave

How can you want to stop fighting anyone whose ultimate goal in life is to end yours? Kill them there or fight them here. Simple choice

Which political party has been responsible for the antigun laws we have on the books now? Which political party promotes new antigun laws as we speak? The ones we have and the ones being shoved at us aren't coming from the Republicans.

I believe I only mentioned a choice of where the fighting takes place, nothing about when as you inserted. But yes, I had rather they die before I do. I have no problem with a glass and sand parking lot being constructed via atomic energy as long as it is not in the U.S. Make no bones about it, weapons of mass destruction found or not, if the followers of Islam has the means to create a glass and sand parking lot in the U.S., they will and laugh about it as they did when the Twin Towers came down.

You evidently accepted (as you should) which political party sponsors all the antigun laws. Hard to argue with facts.
