My son would like to try shooting with gloves. Anyone have a good pair of gloves for shooting in the warmer months they can reccomend?

Roger, tell Luke to try a good pair of biking gloves...the kind that fit well (no wrinkles, ease of movement). They don't have fingers in them. I got the mesh kind with leather backs. My problem is that I forget to bring them with me most of the time. As a matter of fact, I don't know where they are right now...

Some weight lifting gloves can be used also. They normally have increased layers in the palm where the recoil is. Try to get the ones that are not real thick.

If you don't mind the fingers being covered, Bob Allen make some Summer gloves that are synthetic Suede and last pretty good. The edges of the ribs tear them all after a time.

Uncle Mikes makes a shooting glove with leather on the palms/back and spandex between the fingers. Durable and comfortable.

Devi--if you are a glove wearer you won't be sorry you tried 'em. I don't know how many different shooting type gloves i tried before trying these. Nice snug fit too.

My only wish is that they would make them fingerless.

Let me second (or third?) the Summer GunGlove. Use them year-round as a matter of fact. I like them in the Summer to prevent a possible wet hand from mishandling the gun. Great fit and feel (if you get the correct size) and maybe best of all - throw them in the washing machine if they get a little too randy.

LOL...but then you are cutting through the threads, which will unravel. But I like where you are going with that.

    Roger,
I've been using football gloves. The model I've been using is these Nike ones but there are other brands that are very similar. The wide receiver style gloves have a rubbery surface on the palm/finger areas that is very tacky/grippy (is grippy a word? LOL!). Ironically, they aren't great in wet weather so make sure you wipe them off on your pants/clothes occasionally during your rounds in the rain. But, the level of comfort and grip in dry and warm weather is tough to beat.

I have used batting gloves for a number of years, used to use Bob Allens but used 3 pair of them per year ... The batting gloves last for whats seems like forever, I get tired of looking at the same pair because they last so long, throw them away and break out a new pair ... They are considerable less money also, on sale about $15.00 per pair ... I buy 6 pairs at a time, figured I would need them and still have new ones sitting in the box after 4 years ... WPT ... (YAC) ...
