Serious Question. Since all must, and should, wear eye protection;what is the best way to keep rain off the lenses? I really don't like trying to pick out which of the "six" birds to shoot! Thanks in advance. JOND

Tony got it right - wear a hat and blinders that project forward of the lenses about 3/16". A baseball cap worn low and blinders should keep most rain off your lenses. If you do get rain drops on the lenses make sure you use the right type of cloth to remove the water or all you will accomplish is a smearing of the water over the entire lens - not good. Remove and dry thoroughly between rounds.

One more thing - trapshooters are famous for their excuses for a poor performance - go out in the rain and practice - go out in the wind and practice - go out in the cold and practice - go out in the heat and practice. Hell, some places you get all of that on the SAME day.

If you are not willing to expose yourself to the conditions what happens to your game on match day? Do you tank like most of the field and take yourself out of the competition before a shot is even fired?

Reduce the game to you and the target - forget the elements.
