I think i would have told that teacher where she could stick that Mexican flag. I can't believe she was the only one especially in Texas. Most schools can't even say the "Pledge of Allegiance" anymore and get in deep $hit if they do. Why is it ok for the Mexican allegiance then??

When i was a kid in school, every morning was started off with the Pledge to the US Flag. We have went to crap in our own damn Country and it's about time we take it back.

GOOD FOR HER. This is America not Mex. The Mex need to learn that if your here in the USA its our way. Do as you please in Mex but don't bring your crap up here.

I have always had a problem with the Canadian anthum being sung at USA trap shoots. I don't see a place for it. If I were in Canada then I would do what I would have to in their country as a guest.

RE: I have always had a problem with the Canadian anthem

    Bull....

Attend a number of shoots in Canada each year. At shoots where the Canadian anthem is played the US anthem is normally also played. Matter of fact, not uncommon to see the US flag flown along side the Canadian flag at shoots.

    Always appreciated...

Standing respectfully while the Canadian, or another countries anthem is played, has always been normal accepted protocol. Requiring US citizens to memorize and recite their pledge is an altogether different animal.

    the girl did good...

It isn't my intent to pile on. The following is simply an explanation of rules and protocol.

    --------------

So far as I know, ATA membership is open to pretty much any citizen of any country. However, the ATA governing body is limited to representatives from each state and province.

International protocol calls for the national anthem of visiting nations to be played first. The anthem of the host country is always played last. That's why at the Grand you'll hear O Canada followed by the Star Spangled Banner. In Canada you will hear the Star Spangled Banner followed by O Canada.

How can an AMERICAN pledge allegiance to a FOREIGN government, country or flag? Any teacher who would even suggest such a thing should be fired and his (her) pension forfeited. To teach students about a foreign country and its culture is perfectly correct. To expect students to pledge allegiance to a foreign country is irresponsible and even treasonous.

The hatred that liberals have for America is disgraceful. Tolerance is a good thing but it has its limits. Things like this should simply not be tolerated! That is not tolerance - it is cowardice. It took a young girl to show the way.

ps In all my years studying English, through grade school, high school and collegs, never once did we sing, "God Save the Queen". I also studied German in high school and college and was never required to learn the words to "Deutchland Uber Alles".

This is NOT a cultural thing; it is political! WAKE UP! Your country is being stolen, bit by bit. When you finally do wake up to that fact, there will be little of it left.

It is part of the grand plan of the left - take over the schools and "educate" the young to accept this tripe. Call it "tolerance" and tell them that only small-minded people would object. It brought us Jimmy Carter and run-away inflation, Barack Obama and crushing debt, dependence on foreign oil, a dyfunctional congress, an over-reaching executive, a run-away judiciary, massive unemployment and all the other blessings of liberalism.

Stand up! Take back America! Remember what Frank Pentangelli said in "The Godfather" - "while we still have somerthing to build on".

My father always said they will win because they can win at the local level. Now I know what he meant. Everyone thinks it is a large battle in Washington but it is fought on the local level in the schools, courts and our local towns. He was always speaking of the NRA and the left but it is the same fight no matter what the format. I look at the Left as close to being terrorist, but then the ability to do so is what makes this country great. A very large catch 22, and it is a war of attrition. I think the numbers do not lie..........Moving to Montana soon, going to be a dental floss tycoon!

In 1996 our local city college student government decided to eliminate the pledge. I was a city councilman and signed up about eight cities to send notice to the state government budgeting committee of this action.
The head administrator was furious; long story short, I did not back down and there was a new student government in place with the pledge intact, all within three weeks.
Felt good to teach those kids a life lesson, especially the head administrator.

The majority of communists investigated by Kefauver in the late 40's and early fifty's were found in acedamia and the arts (Hollywood). Those in acedamia were teaching in the major colleges. They taught the future teachers of the day, we are now on the third generation of this cycle. Democrats and Republicans must put an end to this crap. Get rid of any socialist leaning elected official at every level. Stop going to movies that star the leftist, liberal actors and actresses. I seldom go to a movie, I will not finance the tripe that Hollywood spouts. I am 71, I hate to think what this country will look like in another 50 years if the changes I have seen in the last 50 continue. My 87 year old uncle threatened to move to Italy if Hillary got elected, I would bet he would have.

As a teacher, there would be no pledge to another countries flag in my classroom.

Recoil Sissy, thanks for the info. But I do hope you understand where I come from. We are giving ALOT of our rights way and letting others walk all over us. What has gotten me so upset is is the way we are cutting our own throats with the illeagal Mex's in our counrty.

It's easy to see why she was the only one not to pledge allegiance, she was probably the only American in the McAllen ISD

But I'm glad she did what she did

I don't like that people born here get automatic citizenship. If the parent or parents is not a citizen of the USA then the child should be a citizen of the parents country at the time of birth. Why let people come here just to give birth here? The politicians see nothing wrong with the current logic or law, Why?

As a parent, my wife and I taught our children to put no other country above ours. As a Veteran, my family and I have lived among other cultures and always conducted ourselves as a guest while there. That said there is NONE better than the USA. It is evident this young Americian has had some very good citizenship training. God Bless her and those who are responsible. God Bless American and her values, lets protect them. Jake
