Earl, in SE PA you can buy never-hit-the-ground STS hulls for 3 cents each. There seems to be a never ending supply. If you buy a large quantity at once you can get a better price.

    Rebel,

I'll take them if you have not sold them.

I usually end up shooing on Squad 17 or 19 at Carney. You can e-mail me at the address above. I live so close to Carney, I can hear Heart of Maryland shooting right now.

    Regards,

Earl, I wouldn't say the AAs were worthless. Where I live almost no one shoots AAs, so there are few hulls to be had. For some reason it's a Remington area, except for the couple mid-West transplants who shoot Federal Gold Medal.

Interesting prices - precision reloading is now selling once fired STS hulls for $90/1000 and the same for red AAs. Why the big difference? Did not used to be. Used to be precision sold them for about a nickle. now it is 9 cents. I am told it is availability, too many people are shooting promos and the once fired premium hulls are harder to get in the kind of quantity an outfit like Precision needs them What do you folks hear?

HaveGun, Precision has always been expensive for hulls. I used to buy from Recob's at 4 cents each. Now I buy privately and avoid the middleman markup.

If there is a shortage of once-fired I'd say it's because a lot of people don't save their hulls. At the PA, MD and DE shoots this year I was blown away by the number of shooters using new STS or Nitro or Fed Paper, etc. and just ejecting the hulls onto the ground. PSSA doesn't even save them for sale to reloaders anymore. They just throw them right in the dumpsters. At my club, more than a few shoot new STS and Nitro even for practice. The trap boys pick them up and use them for their own reloads.

I'll take them if the original deal doesn't happen.
