Storms Causes Damage At Shooting Complex

SPARTA, IL - (KTVI - FOX2now.com) - Officials in Sparta, Illinois are checking on campers who may have been injured during early-morning storms. It happened at the World Shooting Complex just before 7 a.m. Thursday. Winds toppled one camping trailer and blew it over. One man sustained minor injuries. Officers are checking on others on the camp grounds to make sure everyone else is okay. The complex is home to the World Trapshooting Complex from August 4 thru 14th. Over those ten days, about 100,000 people are expected.

The 100,000 people was the number that the ATA told the State of Illinois and IDNR before they built the WSRC, guess they never look at the real numbers ... Time for a reality check and real numbers ...

I was told by a friend of mine who is there that the storm did $25,000 in improvments ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

On the news clip posted elsewhere, I think they said the Grand would bring in 20,000 visitors and generate $15-20 million.

WPT made me laugh. It must have been one ugly camper.

Thankfully no one got hurt badly.

The program says 7000 competitors and 100,000 spectators. Talk about straw men.

Looks like the storm cooled off the weather (about 81 at midday)and heated up the shooters. Saw a whole herd of 100s in the singles event going back to check the rest now.

I hope nobody got hurt. It can get pretty windy in Il. Maybe the weather will cool down a bit.

Now that would be a challenge shooting targets with a 50+mph wind. Would make things interesting.
