Stock comb and heel ?

    What is the best way to measure the dac and dah on a stock that is NOT attached to a gun? I'm attaching a sample of a stock in ?--Thanks---George

    Since the measurement of the drop at comb and heel is based on a line that extends from the muzzle to the receiver on the top of the rib (the sighting plane), it's impossible to measure a stock's drop at either point using just the stock - you have to have the rib as a reference point. Same goes for any cast (on or off) or pitch.
