I have 20 pounds of 4756 that I got cheap, I knew that I could use it on 20ga
and 28ga with no problem. Does anyone have a recipe for 12ga 1oz or ounce and
an eighth load. I use Rem STS hulls. I knew that if anybody would know you guys
would. My first posting, but I have been reading for along time. Thanks
    Terry B.

4756 is meant for heavey hunting or game loads like 1 1/4 or bigger. You won't find any published data for 1 ounce or even 1 1/8. You could try using an 1 1/4 load with 1 1/8 but its gonna be dirty and load. Better off trying to sell it. BYG

For 12ga fodder, its primary use is for rollen hunten and oakley recipes in 1.25 n heavier shot weights. But you can definetly make 1,125sizzle.

Thanks guys. I load all gages because I have the terrible affliction of shooting
trap, skeet, and sporting clays in all gauges. I shoot more trap than anything.
My home grounds is the MTA at Linn Creek. I have to travel along ways to shoot
the other stuff. I didn,t want to go to my grave with all that 4765. lol
    Thanks
    Terry

    Terry,

I am pretty sure you can load 4756 for 28 guage. I'm thinking it might be a 14 to 15 grain load depending on primer and wad. However, you should either go to the Hogdon/IMR website or check one of their reloading mannuals. Wish I was closer to you, I would buy some of that for 1 and 1/4 ounce back up loads. 20 pound will go a long way loading at 14.5-15 grains in 28 gauge.

I have tried it in the 28ga and it really doesn't pattern all that well. If i had a ton of it I might try it with 9's for skeet but in my full choke 870 I couln't get any where near the patterns I got with Unique or Winchester ball powder. Jeff

Hang on to it. GREAT stuff for .357 Mag or 1 1/4 or 1 3/8 12ga.

Thanks guys. I load it in 28ga and 20ga skeet loads already. Good results. I was
just thinking that I don't know if I will ever load enough of them to use it up.
Thats why I was wanting to try and find a load for the 12ga that I could use on
the trap field without making the dogs and chickens run for cover.LOL

It works great for Annie loads.33 gns in AA with waa12r and Win primer behind
11/8 oz will give you about 1500 fps that patterns great.
