I know this is not trap shooting related, but I was wondering if I could get some feed back from some of the experts on this site... is the Springfield Armory 1911 TRP any good ? is it a P.O.S.? anyone have any dealings with Springfield customer service ? does the gun hold up ? mis-feeds / Jambs Etc Etc ? All comments welcome

Here is a place for you to do some research.

Be careful you might end up with an Ed Brown, Caspian, or a couple of Wilson Combats before you are done.

Thanks Guys. found one at a local gun store.. The salesman said that they are quite hard to find here in Kalifornia. I was on a Motorcycle run and had moma with me... She said do it... soooo who am I to argue with such a wise woman. I handed him my credit card and in 10 days I'll have it to try out. This will be my first 1911... Thanks for your in put...

The TRP is a bargain of a 1911. The triggers are so good, they'll make you weak in the knees. My TRP shoots better than my Les Baer Thunder Ranch.

I sold a pair of cowboy action revolvers to a shooter in Ca. He had to wait 10 days to get ONE of them from his ffl. He could only receive 1 handgun in a thirty day period. After that thirty days was up, he could then fill out the paperwork on the second gun and then wait TEN MORE DAYS to get it! In other words it took him FIFTY DAYS to get possession of the pair of guns after they reached his ffl. INSANE!

I must agree that this is a great gun for the price, I have 5 Springfield Armory pistols, no problems with any of them caused by the pistol. I shot a squib load and bulged the barrel, called Customer Service, shipped it to them.
They replaced the barrel, barrel bushing and found something broken on the rear sight. They even sighted it in for me, total cost $168 + shipping. This was in a Trophy Match with Match barrel and bushing.

Can;t beat that with a stick!

I have a TRP. The one problem I had was misfires. The firing pin
was hitting toward the edge of the primer. I sent it in and Spfd.
replaced the slide. Can't complain about the work but it took about
45 days to complete. My son has one of the new S&W E Series 1911's
and I actually prefer it to the Springfield.
