spring conversion for pat trap

    What ever happened to the guy that posted a long time ago about converting rubber band pat traps to a metal spring? Garage door spring? elton

    I consider the steel spring to be superior. It's not subject to temperature and other variations, and stays where you set it.

    The potential damage to other parts if a metal spring breaks can be eliminated by a simple cable tether insde the spring when installed to keep the damaged parts where they belong.

    Just my opinion.

    HM- Is steel really less sensitive to temperature changes than rubber?

    Call Golden West, They have a conversion kit to change over to the springs. Works very well..
