1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

M-42 Winchester 26" Full choke, plain barrel. Fellow came in and sold his Grandfather's collection. 1956 model.

Has been closet queen, handling marks, toe repair. Notice pristine barrel collar and set screw.

Price reduced to$1200 with free shipping, FFL-to-FFL only. Not interested in trades. I need to sell this gun before it winds up in MY safe. LOL

    GUN IS SPF. Thanks, all.

I hunted with one of these in my youth, and shot my first round of Skeet with one, before Speed Up Skeet. We shot singles, station 8, went back around and shot doubles. Option was generally Low 7. Tournaments took FOREVER.

I missed all the singles, hit all the doubles for a score of 8, many, many years ago.

It was magic back in the 50's, and it still is.

I wondered why the fellow wanted to sell his Grandfather's collection. Seems the wife did not want guns in the house.

ARE YOU KIDDING? (See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!)

Anyhow, this gun is in very good shape and needs to go. I am resisting the urge to keep this one to replace a gun that was dear to me when I was young.

I wouldn't do a thing to it. Might even get me back out in the field again.

    Up. So it's a Winchester Model 42 410 28" barrel? I saw M-42 28 and thought it was a 28GA. Dave T.

What do you mean by "toe repair"? It looks to me like the stock was shortened and then the piece was put back on. Am I seeing it correctly in the pictures?

It appears that the butt stock is uncut as it still has the factory butt plate radius. Should be a great shooter. I love shooting 42's for skeet and sporting, just hate dropping my hulls in the dirt, mud and grass. Bill

Toe looks ok, maybe it had a slip on pad.

    Dear Jeff

The subject only allows so many letters. It is indeed a 28" 410. Price has been reduced so this gun does not stay in my safe. LOL

Stock has not been cut, is factory length. A customer slammed the butt on the floor after it was bought and broke a chip off the toe. No, he did not offer to buy or fix the gun. Gun is no longer on display at the shop.

It DID have a slip on pad, doubtless for recoil reduction (snicker).

Dear Doug, I am in Middle Tn.

Gun needs to go! I have to pay for trips to AZ, FL, and SC for training. I can't do that AND keep the 42. LOL

I appreciate the auction atmosphere, but a Buy It Now price is $1200. I will ship for free.

I really want to keep this gun, but I don't hunt any more. It would wind up being a Safe Queen. I don't do SQ's any more.

This little fellow deserves to go out in the field every once in a while. Would be a great gun for the Grand Kid just starting out, or the Old Head who grew up with one who still hunts. :^)
