1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

I have a Winchester Model 12 for sale. It has a 30 inch barrel with both beads. The choke is factory Modified. The gun has a 5/8 inch wide vent rib in the Money Maker style where the rib extends all the way back over the receiver. It has a rollover right hand stock. Wood and blueing are real good with very few handling marks or wear. Gun locks up tight and shoots good. Price is $675 shipped and insured to your FFL. Ed Chrisman 660-663-3146

    LOP is 14 3/8 inches
does not have TRAP marked on it.
S/N indicates that it is a 1948 model

To add to what TD1958 posted:

I think that Winchester stopped stamping TRAP on the Trap Grade guns sometime in 1949, around serial number 1200000. I have an original unaltered 1949 2-pin VR 30" FULL M12 with MC upgraded walnut stock Ser. No. 1210XXX that is concidered to be an authentic Trap Grade gun. I know of another original unaltered M12 Trap Grade Ser. No. 1199XXX that is stamped MODEL 12 TRAP on the receiver extention. Winchester's "TRAP" stamp indicates the grade rather than the purpose of the gun albeit many guns stamped "TRAP" were in fact well suited to shoot trap.

Ed's gun for sale here looks like a nicely built-up trap gun at a reasonable price.

    Brad,

Trap guns were stamped TRAP, skeet guns were stamped SKEET and 3" mag.s were stamped DUCK on Model 12 barrel extensions and the trigger plate on 21's for a number of years. Pigeon grades were not stamped PIGEON. All factory trap guns had the Winchester proof mark to the left side of the rib on the top of the barrel extension. There were 2 models of ventilated ribs available from the factory, the Duck Bill and the Winchester Special Rib. The special rib had the receiver extension the same length as the duck bill but remained the same width of the rib.
