That whole deal was a joke (changing parties). Wonder what promises he got for doing that? What is the incentive for an 80 yr old politician to change parties?

I'd like to see if any of his relation is getting favors from the administration. Something stinks.

Personally, I was rooting for SMERSH over Spectre.

But either way, he's going to be out, which is good.

    Serves him right.

Kind of a slap in the face for Obama and Rendell (PA Governor), both of whom campaigned very strongly for Spectre in the last few weeks. Rendell's insults about Sestak seem to have backfired!

Let's see if we can get Obama to campaign for Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Franks, and a few of the his other comrades. Obama's campaigning for someone seems to give the "Black Rose" to their political career.

The best thing that I see, is that the American people are telling politicians that you work for us. Period. I'm proud of the voters for throwing out incumbents of both parties. That will definitely send the right message. The message is clear. You represent the people. Do your job and quit playing political games or we'll find someone who will.

I think Obama did just about the minimum he could in campaigning for Specter. From his standpoint, Sestak has at least as good a chance of winning in November as Specter would have had. If Sestak wins, Obama gets another far left radical in the Senate in place of whatever Specter was. If Specter won, Obama would be no worse off. Basically, Obama connived with Specter to betray his "principles", then threw him under the bus.

Specter provides the perfect example why Dante placed traitors in the lowest circle of hell.

You are correct about tepid support toward the end. Obambi still enjoys a 70% approval rating in Philly. Had he motivated his welfare recipient/Acorn support base to get out and vote, Sphincter may have won.

This actually may be problem. Specter may have been easier for a Republican to beat in November than Sestak.

Toomey is leading in current polling vs. Sestak, but that can change now that it's a real ballot. If Sestak wins in Nov, we're worse off.

    Well, I disagree.

Anytime I can replace an old, experienced hand in Congress with a young, inexperienced one who has no idea how to get things done...I'll take that trade any day.

Those old, experienced hands have the power, connections, and staff to get things done. Obama needs those people to implement his agenda. When they get killed off, regardless of party affiliation, it hurts his ability to effect change.

    Change them frequently, like underwear.

So a retired three star admiral elected to two terms in Congress "has no idea how to get things done" ???

Sestak is far more dangerous than Specter.

Whew, I thought for a minute you meant an AC130!

I don't mind this jerk getting shot down. It has to be the epitome of arrogance (typical democrat socialist) to actually believe you can switch parties and be successful running against a real democrat socialist.

Oh, Specter needed to go. No doubt about that. But I fear the chances of electing a Conservative to that seat have been hurt.

I am tired of al those old Politicians running our country. Would you go to someone for advice that dribbles in their pants because they are too old to control their bladder? I bet none of them can do 10 pushups or run a 440 without stopping. It is time for them to go. Either party, the Republicans are the same as the Democrats. They say they have experience. Yeah, experience a t screwing you, and stealing as much as they can.Do not think for one second that the Health Care Bill votes were not bought with cold hard cash stashed offshore for those Senators. If you think that there is a Trillion dollars up for grabs, that those boys aren't going to get some of it personally, you are a fool, and got what you deserved.
