You've probably discovered this already, but it shouldn't hurt to mention it again.

The long gun socks are excellent for holding hot or cold packs on your neck - or any part of the body for that matter. I often want to apply heat to a sore neck muscle. I open a couple of those chemical hand warmers and place them inside the middle of the sock. There is plenty of length so the heat can be tied in place with the sock itself. This also works with cold bricks I keep in the freezer.

The socks are long enough to allow me to apply heat or cold to practically any part of the body.

They make excellent cumber bands to go with a tuxedo, especially a nice contrasting camo.

Just be aware that some gun socks are impregnated with silicon, which can stain clothes, bedding and furniture.
