    please provide more information...

My question is, was the barrel backbored or was the forcing cone extended. perhaps part of the cause?

I posted an interesting picture. I have no details of what occured. But, it does appear to be an Italian gun...

It was the crack in the forarm that did it. Whoever was holding it when that happened needed some clean drawers I bet. LOL Jackie B.

Grntitan, Thanks for reminding me about powder detonation. Just look at the picture and you can see the pattern of the sound waves on the barrel rupture. HMB

Looks to me that someone either had a 20 ga shell in the barrel or he had a wad stuck there. More info would be good.

Barrel metal looks thin to my eye. I have not seen many blown barrels but this set blew on the right side wondering if that was the weakest spot. Would like to mic the wall thickness of the barrels like I said looks thin to me could be a bad back-bore or forcing cone job.

Well boys...I've got one that looks just like that. Shooting 5 stand...broke both birds of a true pair reloaded and call for next pair....bang and BOOOOOM.....nearly identical to this failure. Beretta 682 Optima Barrels just like they come from the factory. I was not hurt. Photo to follow.

For those of you who have one of these How-Not-To-Reload trophies laying around, I could use a wall hanger if the price is right.

    PM me picture & price.

PS: If your front teeth are still embedded in the stock, I'll pay extra. LOL.
