There is a nice newer Holiday Inn Express right in Sparta. Then there is the Best Western(also know as Briarwood Inn) in town as well. They are both located on the North side of town and both nice places.

    Holiday Inn Express: (877)859-5095
Best Western(Briarwood Inn): (618)443-4526
Forgetting the Ohio comment(read: beating dead horse) short answer NO. That train left along time ago. Your better off finding a hotel in the outlining cities.

Why should you miss Vandalia? It's still there, book a hotel there & commute.

Holiday INN in Sparta is sold out. This I know. I also heard the price was closer to $250/night.

Look around the Fairview Heights area, along I64. Lots of motels to pick from and no more than 30 minutes from the shooting complex.

Went to the Holiday Inn in Sparta To check on prices. Everyone one working there was a "Hunch Back" scared the Hell out of me so out the door i ran. An Older gentleman stopped me and ask what was wrong. I told him i was concerned about ALL the employees at the Holiday Inn were "Hunch Backs" he started laughing and informed those are not "Hunch Backs" it was their A$$ because everything at This Holiday Inn is HIGH. no offense to Hunch Backs intended

For anyone who responded but failed to read the OP's question . . . he is planning a trip down there THIS MONTH.

Fanugee - Rooms at the Holiday Inn in Sparta run about $90 per night during off-season, and it looks like there is availability this month. I've stayed there, it was fine last time I was there. I stopped staying there after they started jacking up the prices when the Grand is in town, but everyone can make their own call about that.

Some folks really need to actually read the post they are responding to.

The OP is going to be in Sparta this month.

The Sparta Holiday Inn Express currently has vacancies and rooms are running about $91/night.

Scott & V10, just for your information, the OP has since changed his original thread. The original thread said nothing to the effect of traveling any given month. However, he made a side comment about missing Vandalia, hence the perception he was referring to the Grand.

Before you accuse anyone of not understanding or reading an OP's thread just remember you can change or delete your thread and never know it was changed.
