I'll be there for the first 3 days. Not going to miss the snow and temps in the teens we'll be leaving.

I will shoot the last three days of the Florida Chain (Mar 6,7,8) at Silver Dollar to get ready for the Southern Grand on March 9. Surely, out of the 10 days I shoot, I will have one good day.

My Iris and Tulips are up. The trees are budding and my lawn has a definite green cast. Chipmunks are running around my yard. I have survived another bitter Winter. It is time to go to the Southern Grand.

Jer. Small penalty for summer-like weather. I've got 4" of new sunshine on the ground this morning.

Jerry- I-75 is easy, even with the old lady. I drive a little over 100 miles on Rt. 19. Now that is a road to keep you on your toes. Did you happen to notice a news report a couple of months ago about the most dangerous highway in the US? Before Rt. 19, I go through two little towns where the AAA had put up full size billboards warning about a speed trap ahead. I can't wait.

Pat, those 2 little towns are on RT. 301. Why do you drive 100 miles on RT. 19 to go to Odessa? Jim

Jim- You don't understand my travel system. My wife always goes with me and she also operates a small antique business. I leave the first day and overnight in or around Williston FL about 150 miles from the club. We stop around Williston because there is a small family restaurant that has excellent food and there are 7 antiques stores in the town. It takes me about 9 hours to drive the last 150 miles. There are a few, but not many, stretches of up to 10 miles between shopping stops. My Explorer is relatively empty on the way down. It takes me 3-6 hours to pack up everything for the trip back. I use 5 car top carriers, a U-Hitch and often a U-Haul to get back home. My wife really likes to go on shooting trips.

Understood, you have my sympathies. You must really love that gal or you have a passion for slow trips and antiques. See you soon. Jim

Jim- I forgot to mention that all of her expenses are a legitimate business expense. She also grabs Trap and Field before I see it and has many more shoots highlighted than I can attend. Not to many wives fuss at their husbands because they can't shoot more. A few times, she drove the car back from Vandalia and I followed her in a 22 foot U-Haul truck.

    Pat,

You must mean "Lawtey,FL", home of the "Silver Bullet", that was the sheriff's CB handle years ago.The other one is Waldo, FL.which has several antique stores as well.

See you down there for the weekend.

Pat, I went to Robinson ranch last week and unfortunately I didn't know about the speed trap in Waldo. There were two white trucks that were speeding, I was in one doing 55 in a 45 and was slowing and the other was doing 67 in a 45. I was the one who was pulled over for 67 in a 45. I told him that I was speeding but wasn't the one doing 67 as the other truck passed me on my left. The policeman was 6 cars ahead of us and watching through his rear view mirror. He assured me that going to court would not help my case as he hadn't lost one yet. $270.00 was the charge so watch your speed very close. Jackie B.

Jackie- As I remember, the problem is that the speed limit changes about every 2 miles and ranges from 55 to 25. Neat little trick.
