    That sure is beautiful

A while back one of my friends that lives in Ft St Johns BC sent me a video about an old fella that runs one of the wheat pools, and they had an antique one cyl diesel engine that ran the elevators off a jack shaft. it was really cool to see the old stuff working they had pictures when he was up in the head house you could see for miles
The video was taken in Alberta

    Catpower,
One of the old grain elevators that were a mile from here was run with a single cylinder diesel engine. I used to be fascinated to watch it run. It was one of the last operating elevators still using one until it was torn down. The engine was donated to Heritage Park in Calgary.

    Rick,
That one is owned by Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd., a large, privately held grain company out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Ron, I wish I would have saved that video it was so cool, it was about 30 minutes long, but it showed the whole aspect of starting it in the morning people bringing in wheat that then loading the rail car

I could really relate to it I was raised on a farm and worked in our Co-op at times

Yes, it would be good for people to see how the wheat and barley their bread, pasta and beer is made from gets into the system from the farms.
