Source for brass fitting for butt pad install?

    Anybody know where to get those brass fittings you screw into the wood so the butt pad can be attached with machine screws instead of wood screws?

    About any lumberyard. They are known as 'screw inserts.'

    I bought them at Lowes. I however prefer the steel ones over brass because the brass tend to strip out the threads. They have both

    Thanks guys. I think I'll try for the steel ones at Lowes. I've already buggered up 2 of the brass ones.

    I think you will like the steel Joe. I tried the brass before I went to the steel. If I had some I would send them but all I have is the brass left

    High strength hex drive version will be perfect. Gotta take the right sized screw. Will check later.

    Yet another source. Shows the insert driver needed for the slotted kind that would keep me from boogering them up with a screw driver.
