My son Glenn just tried out for the Northbrook Sportsman's Club youth shooting team. He's on station 1 in the pic. Got a personal best 15 today! Look for the rest of the team at the youth state championships in Sparta. Good luck all. Great bunch of young adults.

Keep up the great work dad. I see many more personal bests in his future.

Try outs ??? How many kids do you have there ???

I have coached a Middle School team in Tennessee for 6 years now and we take everyone. Some start shooting 50/100 and by August are in the 80's - 90's.

Technically it was him "trying out" to see if he liked the team concept. I've had him out on the field since he was 10, he turned 14 last week. The minimum age is 14 since this is also a BSA Venture Crew. I also want someone else to coach him since we all know how hard it is to teach family members, especially teenagers.
I don't know the actual count of how many kids are on the team but there a total of 16 out for practice today.

Glad they aren't turning kids away !!!! I only had one new kid sign up this year, hope next year is better !!!! We have about 40 kids shooting on four teams here in our county.

If you are referring to the Illinois AIM State shoot that is to be held next weekend, its at Rend Lake ... not Sparta! I don't want you to show up at the wrong place!!

It won't be long and he'll be outshooting you, Dad! The team experience is great for the kids. They make new friends and will have a great time.

Congrats and have fun with it!

I "assumed" it was at Sparta- oooops. We won't be going this year as this was only his first practice with the team. Since he is only 14 and can participate till he is about 20, I figure he will have plenty of opportunities to go to the state meet. I also told him that I do expect him to be able to out shoot me one of these days.
