Actually you can experience three new things at the North Hollywood ATA Shoot this Saturday!

First, we will be shooting on our new trap field for the first time. It turned out beautiful and lots of members volunteered lots of hours to make it a reality. Also, a big thank you is in order to Ray Brasser and Mike Friel and all the members of the Los Cazadores Trap Club of Oxnard. Their Club lost their range a couple of years ago and decided to very generously donate a low mileage Series G Pat wobble trap and a voice release system to help our expansion. We installed it this week, plugged it in and it started tossing great targets from the git go.

Second, to fully utilize our new, third field we will be running a 200 target singles program on it concurrent with two, consecutive 100 target handicap events on fields 1&2. The handicap events will be our standard 50 per field format. In the HCs we will be awarding prizes, based upon at least 3 participants, in yardage groups 19-22, 23-25 and 26-27 plus Champion. In Singles we will be using 5 classes. While the event is technically a 200 target event, we will be awarding prizes based upon the best 100 target scores and also the best 200 target scores, again, at least 3 participants in a class.

By using this format, shooters wishing to shoot 100 singles and 100 HC targets should have at most an hour and a half between their rounds. Obviously, early HC squads will be late singles squads and vice versa. With this format, shooters who just want to shoot one HC and one singles round will finish in 2/3s the time it used to take us to shoot the same program.

Upon completion of the first HC event and the first 100 of the singles event, we will start the second HC and the second 100 of the singles event for those wishing to shoot two HCs, or those shooting the full 200 singles event or those wishing to shoot 300 total targets. As such, shooters can shoot 300 targets(either 200 HC and 100 singles or 100 HC and 200 singles)in the same amount of time we used to use for just 200 targets.

This a great opportunity to post that elusive 200 straight singles score. PLUS we are offering a $100.00 Bounty on the first 100 straight on the new field, ties for the day divide the $100.00.

For your third new experience, we will be serving home made smoked-steak chili with woodfire toasted garlic french bread. This is a mild chili with big chunks of wood smoked tri-tip in the most savory chili you ever did eat.

First squads out at 8:45. From I5 take Newhall Ranch Road to Copperhill, turn left. Go to San Francisquito Canyon and turn left again. About 3 miles and you will see the entrance to the Club on the left. Pre-Squad? Call me at 805 482 8012

Jim, Sounds like a great program, although I had to read it several times :)
BTW: Will the club be open Fri afternoon to sneak in some practice? Walt.

Walt, give me a call about Friday. I think we will be there doing final touches and you can get some "test" firing in.
