This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

What happened to the mid rib?

Are you sure these are Optima barrels? That looks like a mobile choke choke tube

Nothing happened to the mid rib.

At one time I believe this 12 gauge barrel was partnered with a sub-gauge tubed set barrel and it has the rib weights so that it would be match weighted.

It is definately optima bore choked.....

I have never seen a Beretta 682 barrel without mid ribs- so my guess is something happened to them or it is an unusual barrel to be sure- and the optima barrel 682 barrels I have seen have been all Golde's

It certainly cost money to modify this if it modified

    With higher ribs

Not sure what is unusual about the top barrel's mid rib ...looks just like the other two barrels(minus side weights)... 3 barrels from 3 different guns...

This is what the middle barrel is on.

Early 682 Gold E sporting barrels do not have mid ribs under the area covered by the fore end. I Don't know about current barrels.

OK so there is a mid rib under the barrel weight? it looks flush in the picture

I had a gold e sporting and I could swear it had a high rib- just like every other one I have seen

I know those barrel weights that Ian makes are very reasonable but his would cost heck $140 or more?

Note this bottom barrel weight has been relieved so the gas may blow by from the ports apparently- another custom feature

    Regards from Iowa

The barrel's weight 59.5oz with flush chokes. It's slimmer twin(san weight)weights 50.3oz w/flush chokes. So if my math and scale are correct the weights are 9.2oz.

    Gene

I believe the weights maybe Kolars and yes they are milled to not block the porting on the lower barrel. The original side ribs are intact and the weights attach to them via hex head screws 3 per side.

    All

They are 682E Optima bore barrels ....they can fit the whole range of 680 series receivers 680 682 686 687 with proper fitting.

    Regards Tom
