Soft hit shell

    Can a SOFT HIT SHELL be refired? I am relatively new to this sport and am getting conflicting views.

    Yes but, if you are shooting registered targets 2-FTF = a lost target.

    Yes but generally they don't go off a second time either. Set it aside for practice/goofing off. The cause is usually a dished in shell head with the primer set too deep or your gun has really weak hammer spring(s).

    I am using an MX8 and every flat or so I get 1 or 2 duds. I am using Winchester Super Targets. I think that the springs are ok but can always change the lower one with a spare to see.

    I have the same problems with Winchester Super Targets..Generally the shell face is dished. I have had quite a few of these. Have no problems with Gun Clubs,Top Guns or Mirage..SMOKIT

    2 FTFs do not = a lost target. You are allowed 2 FTFs per sub event. HMB
