Tell your boys I said hi. They are cool kids, both of them.
I WAS WITH 3/1 MOST OF THE TIME ASHAU VALLEY MARBLE MOUNTAIN ARIZONA TERRITORY, DODGE CITY INDIAN TERRITORY AND WHERE EVER THEY SENT ME 68/69 M14 STARLITE.700 REM LATERON.
Hi SNIPER 1969 ! I should'nt really go there but according to Charles Henderson author of "One Shot One Kill" and "Marine Sniper" by the time you got to Marble Mountain Sgt.Hathcock had dispatched every VC and NVA soldier of importance for a hundred miles around the Marine Corps base at Chu Lai.Unfortunately the exploits and tails of Sgt. Hathcock makes the efforts of many other quality Marine Corps Scout/Snipers look pale in comparison. It was my experience that this one shot one kill stuff was a little hiped, as a once certified m-60 gunner there is no substitute for bullets in the air !
Joe Scout -- Marine sniper/scout 3/9 Vietnam 1967/68
the book about Joe Ward was a good read.
Well I see someone else is up this late/early.
I've read about all the sniper books that are out there, but am curious about Joe Ward's. What is the title of this one?
The wife put all of my books into a tote and put them in the attic. Let me look when I get a chance and I'll get back to you.
