I guess Larry Graham came first, and he's one of the most talented bassists, too, but I still think Johnson is better.

Louis Johnson played on "Thriller" and "Off the wall" from Michael Jackson too. He is a great player. Check out his playing with Earl Klugh.

I don't often pick fights.... but Jamerson is still #1! No flash...all soul!

    Devi-

If you are a bass player or just a fan check this cat out. His name is Bill Clements. He is a one armed bass player. He only has his fretting hand. I stopped complaining about by forearms hurting, and how heavy my amp is after I saw this guy.

    Doug

Bill- great video...I love to see kid playing

Devi, For one I can't sit still when I hear music like that, it makes me wanta moooooooove. The guy is awsome. While I was visiting Memphis last year I heard some of the best players there. Blues ain't blues without a good bass man. My son installs sound systems in studios across the US and through that he has gotten to meet some awsome players. He has some recording that he keeps forgetting to give me. Jackie B.

My favorite drummer... Dave Weckl. I'm a fusion fan and his band is one of the best in the world. IMHO...

    Dave Weckl Drum Solo at PASIC 2007<br/><object width="425px" height="360px" ><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="movie" value="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=23072746,t=1,mt=video"/><embed src="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=23072746,t=1,mt=video" width="425" height="360" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object>

Just a taste of his talents.

Check out Tal Wikenfeld playing with Jeff Beck at the crossroads concert. The young Aussie gal plays bass at it's best! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gO7FI_ogvA&NR=1

magnumshot, he's feelin' it...he didn't learn in in two days. There is a difference in really feeling the music and just copy catting. This guy is a talented bass player.

We all know the guitarist's hierarchy. I just love watching this guy play bass.

xcollector, your guy is amazing, but sometimes he is off the beat. I think he is more into technique and showing his talent than he is into the music itself. But thanks for showing us this exceptional bassist.

Billy...he's great. I would love to hear him live one day.

Jer, are you still playing? I hope you are well enough to do that sometimes.

Jack, we will have some dancin' tunes in August!

If you get a chance, type in Beaver Felton and check out a you tube or two. He played in a band or two with my brother. I believe you will $h!t if you like INCREDIBLE bass. Give it a listen.

Curvy, still beating the skins. I have to wear gloves now, I can't keep a stick in my left hand very well anymore. I don't care though, I still enjoy the music. My youngest, Brandon, got a scholarship to a music camp this summer for his drumming. He is looking forward to it.
