sick dog

    Some of the symptoms sound like zinc toxicity, which is what happens when a dog eats pennies or other metal objects containing zinc. Normally though this would initially cause vomiting and later the refusal to eat.

    Call your vet. That's what they get paid for.

    Ask about EIC in the pedigree when you talk to the vet and heartworm in your area

    Just went thru the same thing on 2 dogs and it was snake bite.Lost one and the vet saved the other one.

    This is the time of year when some dogs eat newly emerging grass or other vegetation. Usually they thyrow it up but sometimes they merely retch, unable to bring up the offending grass.

    Take him/her to the vet for a more complete evaluation.
