Went deer hunting. Didn't see any deer, though there was lots of sign. But for the first time we saw lots of cottontails, and they were out in broad daylight, not nocturnal as usual. Kind of awkward, though, carrying two guns, because my smallest shotgun does not have a sling. Maybe I should carry the slug gun and put birdshot in it for the first round.

Brian, I use a .22 pistol on rabbits. Head shots work great.

Try it, you might like it. And they aren't that heavy to carry either.

My Father wouldn't let me hunt rabbits with a shotgun. That was a no-no as far as he was concerned. He didn't like biting into a piece of shot.

Started out with a rifle, but later on in life, went to a pistol. More sporting and just as much fun.

    Good Luck Hunting!

Brian, just be glad that you aren't in Texas, as for seeing the cottontails. Not very many left here, thanks to the fire ants.
