The Wife brought this thing home that's supposed to be a puppy. It's about the size of a Rat and has seemed to attach itself to me. What do you think?

See if you can train "Ratso" to pick up hulls on the trap fields. He's small enough no one will notice while they're shooting.

    Will it point pheasants?

If yes, will it retrieve them?

Never mind. You'll never be able to tell if its on point anyway. And its kinda hard to retrieve something that's bigger than you. Especially if its still kicking.

Tron, keep him and train him for what ever you want. I have a minature datsun that is one of the best retrievers I've ever had. He also thinks he is a squirrel dog(only fair at that) and likes to try to retrieve fish. It's almost impossible to get a fish in without him getting in the water and trying to retrieve the fish and I always worry when it's a big catfish. Did I also mention that he will blood trail deer for me. I had fun training him. Jackie B.

Looks to me like you already have "Kept it!" I suspect that kitty is not going to like this one little bit. Jeff

From the photo, looks like he has some "Mississippi Leg Hound" in him...attached himself to you, indeed.

I used to make fun of people with small dogs like that. Now, not so much. When Coach and I were considering getting married it wasn't my three teenagers that were nearly the dealbreaker, it was Jessie. Trust me, when you have to walk in the back yard with rubber boots and any food 6' high or lower is gone forever, you'll be grateful for that little dog.

Wanna trade? Coach'll pay for shipping, dead or alive. 165 pounds is expensive either way!

Name it Dammit. Always use the dogs name when you yell at it. Like Come here dammit! Sit Dammit! You get the picture. As far as keeping it, your wife might have made THAT decision for you, IF indeed she was the one who "brought it home". Is it a male or a female? If it's a male, get your sneakers waterproofed.
