It appears that SGW.com is down again, for like the 12,347 time this month.

What a turd that turned out to be. Maybe the annoying pop-ups took over.

That website is free for all to access, so unless you paid to be a bonus member or have a financial stake vested in the website, I would not complain about it being down.

So many pop-ups on their site, they probably caused it to blow out a 50 Amp fuse....

Whoever runs that site need to take a lesson from the owners of AR15.com. That has got to be the best run gun forum on the web, even if it draws in the characters.

I would love to be a paying customer to Shotgunworld.com as I am at AR15.com, but it's such a turdof a website. Great concept, terrible execution.

It's a great site actually. Probably has more to do with the server hardware and load.

I'm sure they'll get it right eventually.

It's been on and off all weekend for me...as of yesterday, if you go to the site, you now have to login to see all the forums.
Today it's been down most of the day...i agree with the above poster....all those pop up adds blowed it up!

There was a report on <I>BoardReader.com</I> about 8 months ago that SGW was hacked by the <I>Elenore Exploit Kit</I> (a buy-it-and-try-it code package purchased off the internet). If it was hit again by another kit it is no doubt worse than the Elenor.

Kits like this are constantly evolving and showing up in the wild. They can be a real PITA to remove because they plant bits of their code all through the target web site. Without the removal keys, I've encountered some that have taken weeks to completely eliminate picking out the code line by line.

Basically, they are having storage problems... they are back up and running this morning, and there is a thread under the general forum that explains it.

What I noticed at the bottom of the front page of the SW forums listing is:

    Total posts 2178557 | Total topics 230221 | Total members 79671

That is as of today. The site keeps all of those posts open and available. It's not hard to see why they run into occasional storage issues. I think they also had a hard drive failure last week as well. I think they are doing just fine. Jay mentioned asking that the server host add 4 gig of memory to the existing server and they are looking at moving up to a bigger server.

I use a basic pop-up blocker and have no issues with pop-ups on SW.
