The local chapter of Ducks Unlimited is planning a fund raising shoot using the facilities of a local country club that has a Pat-Trap with a wobble feature. We were planning on using that machine for the wolf chase games. We are planning on charging $5/shooter expecting 15 to 25 shooters per game and the winner of each round would get some DU merchandise with a cost of $25 to $40 with a perceived value maybe twice the cost.

Can some of you come up with some ideas for fairly fast games along the line of quick elimination so the guys will not get bored doing the same thing for a 4 hour period? I am sure this sounds like a cheap deal to some of you, but that stimulous money has not found its way to NE Texas yet & we are afraid a lot of shooters would choose to buy food & gas than spend money shooting!

    Thanks for your help!

Jim, add to the annies with a 5 shot, 1shot at each station can be at various yardages. have shoot offs for those who are tied start at 27 and move back from there. dont forget buddy shoots usually from the 27 and back up for shoot offs. might add a monkey buddy in there also (first shooter shoots, his partner tries to break any piece from first target max 2 hits frm each station) In the buddy shoots draw for partners. It keeps ringers from getting all the prizes. hope this helps.

Have them pair up and shoot sitting on milk crates from the 21 yard line station 5. Then throw a pair of doubles set on wobble. Both shooters have to shoot at their side bird first and they can cover their partner if he misses.

    game 2

One shooter at a time. Start at station 1 and walk the 27 yard line. Have someone throwing the targets at random. Shooter gets 1 or 2 shots at the targets. You can vary the amount of targets thrown from 5-10. We always throw with the trap set on wobble. If you crank it up you can get some tough targets. A lot of fun and always fun with the peanut gallery adding comments.

If possible, separate the shooters in the events into beginners, intermediate and pros. Nothing ruins a fun shoot like getting repeatedly thumped by the pros time after time!! The lesser shooters will vanish into thin air taking their money with them.
