I shoot 1 1/8 oz of #8 and #71/2 at the trap club. I have been loading this trap ammo at 1145fps. Should I be loading at a faster speed? I mostly shoot from the 16 but occasionally shoot 22 to 25 handicap. Any ideas on optimum fps for trap?
    Thanks

I shoot nothing but 2 3/4 Dr equiv.(1145 fps) for all yardages and wind conditions and I have my share if wins including Anniesat about 30 yards.

The difference in time-to-target between 1145 fps (2¾ Dr Eq)and 1200 fps (3 Dr Eq) is so small as to be of no consequence. 1225 fps (3 1/8 Dr Eq) and 1255 fps (3¼ Dr Eq) are just uncomfortable to shoot.

1145 is just fine. Remember the faster it starts out the faster it slows down. HMB

Which patterns the best out of your gun? I get better patterns with 1150fps. loads. I use them and an IM choke from the 16 to the 27. JMO
