Our club has farmable land beyond the shot fall area but we have to mark off that zone for the farmer. How far beyond the Trap Houses does shot travel??

    Thanks

300 yards is considered the safety zone.

The easy rule of thumb to remember is: "7-1/2 shot - 750 feet" + 10% for tailwind.

Source: NRA Firearms Fact Book; 1990 edition

300 yards is 900 feet and should be ample safety coverage from falling shot
    up to size 7-1/2

Federal 3 Dram 71/2's will go 535 feet. I have walked up on a shooter to find the distance as it is not published. The safty zone is 900 feet.
