Using a average trap load as the norm, how far does the shot travel from the muzzle? Thanks, Joe Atkin

The recommended shot fall area on a trap field is 900ft (300 yrs). That of course has a margin for error and considers the occasional goof ball that brings out duck loads, or possibly some Annie Type Games. That’s the sure safe zone. But when I put my field in we did some testing and found shot fall on Nitro 27 7 ½ fell consistently at about 720’ and light targets in 7 ½ or 8 came in well under the 700’ distance. We tested these at 315’ above sea level on a calm day, I’m sure altitude and wind are factors.

    Eddie,

Cool post. If I would have had that chart I wouldn't have waisted all the time testing myself.
