Only have gone through 100 lbs. All 9 shot through a mec jr .410
    21/2" 1/2 oz load.
Seems to drop well and when I use it for skeet the birds break.

MG did an awesome test on different shot over in the reloading section, check it out great write up. Eagle shot tested on the lower end of the hardness test. I have used Eagle for a while now but am switching over to west coast for handis. I will continue to shoot eagle at the 16 until I run out of my current stock.

It also seems to run smaller than the displayed size. I'd use it for anything but handicap. When I want to shoot high antimony 7 1/2s, I want real high antimony 7 1/2s. Your mileage may vary. Good Luck.

From what I have read on here it is good enough for everything. If you are a high level handicap shooter you may want to pass as it is a bit softer, but for me it is all I use.

My up and down scores are not due to shot brand. Lately we have had to take any shot we come across.

If you are long yardage handicap shot brand/type has more to do with your up and down scores than you might think.

Never had any problems with Eagle #7 1/2 for 16 yard loads.

Shot a few ton of eagle shot and don't think any of my missing was the shot. Also have loaded Lawrence shot and it will work also if you put it in the right place. Shoot what you have confidence in that will work the best.

Eagle brand shot is very, very soft. Soft shot is known to pattern less dense than harder shot like Lawrence or West Coast.

If all you shoot is singles or doubles, it will work just fine, but you may want to tighten your choke a bit.

As noted above, if your handicap distance is 25 or above, you would be well advised to use a harder brand of shot.

My club only sells eagle. I'll probably buy some for practice and save my hard shot for registered.
I've got 7 bags of WC and 8 bags of Remington left right now.
That will get me through to the state shoot where I can get more hard shot.

Eagle Shot is different batch to batch. Sometimes almost as good as west coast but in other batches it was really soft and pattern percentages were really bad. Might be ok for 16 or practice but when it matters use west coast if you can get it.
