Good shooting. There is a young lady that shoots 750-1,000 everyday when in training. I think she won a recent Olympic gold medal. Kim Rhode. I've shot 500 but never tried 1,000. Too old now.

Since its an ironman challenge, do you have to shoot rhino rollers for both shots? Lol

It does make for a long day and I understand what you mean. I shot the Walla Walla(WA) Marathon a number of times.

    Nice shooting!

A thousand rounds a day is considered "Ironman" ????

Hell, that's just a warm up. I'm the second shooter on the spreadsheet below. When you can do 8,425 shells in three and a half days and maintain an 86.7% average, get back to me.

Until then, Kayla is not impressed....

    Thats good shooting.

A shooter I know shot 1659 targets in 1 hour! He broke 1562. Not likely to be duplicated?

    Clyde,

That is one target every 2.169 seconds for an hour straight at 94%.

Even taking into account two guns and a loader, I'm slightly skeptical of the veracity of your claim. Hopefully you can afford our audience a verifiable citation.

When I shot 60 boxes (1500 rounds) and killed 1,337 birds (89%) it took just shy of three hours with one gun, a bird boy dumping shells in my pouch, me loading, and shooting as fast as my relatively young body would allow. I lost my thumbnail from repeated reloading despite a good set of Wells Lamont leather gloves.

Esa Kolegard of Sweden holds the record for most clay targets in one minute at 29 set in 2001. That's a break on the same presentation every 2.068 seconds using the assistance of a loader.

I'm not out to start a large schwanz contest (ok...maybe I am!)but who is this shooter and when was this feat recorded??

Seven Mary Three, Dave Berlet set the record very much like that. I have one of the hulls. 1100 Rems as I recall and loaders. Camp Troy Ohio. All us Ohio guys know about it. :<)))) I believe Dave's record was surpassed a time or two.

Gary Morlan the PITA "Marathon Man"

    3.500 targets in one day.

    13,700 targets in one week.

    22.500 targets in one month.

    132.300 targets in one year.

    All targets were registered.

I would squad/shoot with Gary at certain clubs. We would show up early and shoot 3 or 4 hundred before the events stated. Shoot the events of the day and then shoot 3 or 4 hundred. I could not hold a candle to Gary. He would still be shooting when I had packed it in!

His Bio is on the PITA web site under the Hall of Fame.

Ajax - Just read Gary's bio. I hope my body can stand up to that kind of pounding when I'm 69.

Aww hell who am I kidding. I'll be worm food by then.

charelyj10 - Kayla shot herself in the foot, costing herself a gold medal by a fraction of a fraction of a point.

Google Image Search "Kayla Not Impressed."

Kayla Maroney is 16 year old gymnast who nailed 30 something perfect vaults, made judges jaws literally drop, and was a shoe in for the gold medal. And then on the last jump to cement the win, she fell.

That's her pi$$ed off poor sport little girl face that became an internet meme.
