Ive only been to Sparta once and was wondering do the gun shops stay open all year or just for major events. The reason for asking is my son and I are wanting to try some new guns and didn't know if we had to wait for the grand to do so. Thanks Randy

A vast majority will be there only for major shoots, and some only for the Grand. Most of them have regular retail locations.

Pinckneyville, which is about 25 east of Sparta, has two of the well known gun shops in the area. They are Wright, who makes choke tubes, and Mann's General Gunsmithing. Mann's does some Remington repairs at the Grand. I think there is another gun shop in Pinckneyville that handles only Black Powder but I am not sure.
